The Heart of Numed: 50 Years of Dedication, Growth, and Community

By Numed, Inc

In 2025, Numed, Inc. celebrates an extraordinary milestone: 50 years of innovation and excellence in the imaging industry. This journey isn’t just about the advancements we’ve made; it’s a celebration of the people, relationships, and shared moments that have brought us here.

Contributions That Define a Legacy

At the heart of Numed’s story are the employees whose dedication has shaped its success, through implanting transformative change or embodying the spirit of growth. And often both.

From people who modernized payroll systems and established 401(k) plans to those who have evolved from technologist to Regional Manager or Senior Manager to the ones who have provided support across departments, every team member has contributed to Numed’s legacy. It’s those personal touches—guiding initiatives and embracing new challenges—that have kept Numed moving forward.

Whether pioneering in-house engineering services, expanding into advanced imaging modalities, or achieving ISO: 9001 certification, our team’s ability to innovate and adapt has always set us apart.

Growth Through Shared Vision

From its beginnings as a single-modality provider focused on turn-key nuclear medicine, Numed has grown into a multi-faceted company offering comprehensive imaging solutions for MRI, PET/CT, and CT. This expansion includes a wider geographic reach, serving clients across multiple states, and diversification into services like equipment leasing and engineering support.

The journey has been marked by pivotal milestones, both physical, digital, and departmental: The planning and construction of our corporate office in Cross Roads and the Denton Service Center. The rebrand of our visual assets “that redefined our identity as we transitioned into the digital and social media era,” says Judy Neu, Marketing Manager. The expansion of services in Georgia, transforming from one system to multiple modalities, growing the team over 300%, all while contributing to Numed's equipment leasing initiatives. And the staffing complexity in departments like IT, HR, and Operations.

Each step reflects our dedication to meeting the evolving needs of our clients and the healthcare industry at large.

A Culture of Care and Connection

Employees often speak of the company as a family, a place where support and mentorship thrive. When speaking on leadership at Numed, Jack Allen, Co-President & Chief Administrative Officer, says, “These teams create an environment where diverse ideas are actively encouraged, deeply valued, and consistently supported.”

At Numed, our people-first culture has always been a source of pride. “It goes back to how Ed [Menkemeller, founder] thought and treated his employees,” says Chuck Bird, Vice President of Engineering. “He truly appreciated the people who worked for him and thought of them as family. Marc [Menkemeller, current owner] has continued that tradition.”

Because of this, the common theme is that Numed isn’t just a workplace. It’s a place where people have grown, learned, and built lasting relationships, both personal and professional. These relationships are the foundation of Numed’s continued success.

Celebrating 50 Years Together

Reaching this milestone is a chance to reflect, themes of resilience and adaptability have defined Numed’s journey. When reflecting on challenges like Medicare changes, technologist shortages, and a global pandemic, Darla Scott, Corporate Controller, says that “the ability to overcome adversity, to survive and thrive” has stood out as an example of Numed’s innovation and the ability to emerge stronger each time.

More than anything, our 50th anniversary is about gratitude. Gratitude for the employees who bring passion to their work every day, for the clients who trust us as partners, and for the visionaries who have guided us along the way. Together, we’ve created something truly special.

Looking Ahead

As we celebrate this remarkable milestone, we honor the people who have built Numed into the company it is today. Their stories of growth, loyalty, and innovation are integral to our success—and the foundation for an even brighter future.

To those just starting their journey with Numed: embrace the opportunities to grow, innovate, and build meaningful connections.

Here’s to the next chapter of Numed’s story—one that promises continued growth, innovation, and a steadfast commitment to the values that have brought us here.
