Beyond 50 Years: A Look at Numed’s Past, Present, and Future

As 2025 comes to an end, we’re reflecting on not only the past year, but on the past 50 years of Numed. To celebrate this milestone, our newest animated video highlights our history and our continued commitment to an even brighter future.

Our story begins in 1975, when Ed Menkemeller founded Numed with a mission to provide healthcare organizations with innovative imaging equipment and business solutions. What started as service to just two hospitals in Denton, Texas, quickly expanded across the state and beyond.

In 2001, Ed’s son, Marc Menkemeller, stepped into the role of CEO, beginning a new era of Numed. Under Marc’s guidance, Numed saw significant growth, including the opening of a dedicated service center in 2018, and an ongoing pursuit of excellence that led to our ISO certifications for quality in safety in 2019, and again in 2024.

Looking back at our journey so far, we see the valuable insights and momentum that will carry us through the next 50 years and beyond. We remain focused on advancing today’s imaging modalities while also exploring emerging technologies such as theranostics. No matter where the future takes us, we will continue to uphold our founding principles of agility, precision, and innovation.
